Around 1880, Edison invented the lamp holder and switch, creating the history of the production of switches and sockets. Subsequently, the German electrical engineer Augusta Lausi (ROS. August) further proposed the concept of electrical switches, the early switch sockets Manufacturers are mainly concentrated in developed countries in the United States and Europe;
In 1913, the General Electric Company of the United States began to produce household light switches in Shanghai.
In 1914, Qian Tangsen founded Qian Yongji Electrical Machinery Factory in Shanghai, and the Chinese began their own electrical business;
In 1916, domestic production of electrical switch products began;
In 1919, began to imitate some American switches.
Before 1949, there were few and very small manufacturers of switch sockets in China, mainly producing horizontal wheel pull switches, flat switches, daylight switches, plugs, dual-use sockets, three-phase sockets and other products.
At that time, electrical companies in other countries in the world developed rapidly, with advanced technology and large scale.
In the 1980s, my country’s wall switch socket industry entered a new era of development, and two Chinese switch socket production bases centered in Wenzhou and Huizhou, Shunde, and Zhongshan were successively formed. China has become the most important switch socket in the world. One of the production bases.
Switch standard evolution
Before 1949, China’s electrical products mainly depended on imports. At that time, there was no uniform standard for switch sockets in the world.
After 1950, the Shanghai Power Station also managed the quality of the industry, which greatly promoted the standardization of products.
In the 1960s, the Guangzhou Electrical Apparatus Research Institute established a national indoor bakelite electrical material testing center.
In the 1970s, the first indoor bakelite cable switch meeting was held in Harbin to further standardize.
In 1966, the International Electrotechnical Commission put forward a unified standard initiative.
In 1970, the International Electrotechnical Commission decided to set up a branch to study plugs and sockets, and began to establish IEC standards for switch sockets.
In the 1970s and 1980s, my country also gradually standardized the switch sockets nationally and internationally. Subsequently, the Guangzhou Electrical Apparatus Research Institute revised the switch socket standards with reference to the IEC standard. So far, our country’s wall switch socket has formed a relatively complete standard system.
Switch structure evolution
Before the 1980s, surface-mounted pull-wire switches, rotary switches, toggle switches, small button switches, and surface-mounted sockets were widely used throughout the country. The working principle was button pop-up, single-pole flip-up, etc. The materials were basically electric. Wood flour and ordinary brass.
The mainstream products from the mid-1980s to the late 1990s were sliding rocker type, double spring type rocker, etc. The materials were PC or nylon 66, tin phosphor bronze, etc., because the product shape was a small button structure, it was also called ” Thumb switch”.
In the late 1990s, the switch products paid more attention to the improvement of safety, with the function of protecting the door, and the materials were mostly made of high-quality PC materials and alloy contacts. The large panel “key switch” and the intelligent control “smart switch” came out one after another.
